About Glasgow
There are plenty of things to do and see around Glasgow.
If you have come to town to relax the city offers an unrivalled shopping experience. Only a stone’s throw away from the Artto there are the world-class shopping venues of Princes Square and the Merchant City as well as The Buchanan Galleries, Argyll Street and Sauchiehall Street. The stylish West End of town hosts a bevy of individual retailers and is also in easy reach of the hotel.
The SECC (Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre), Kelvingrove Park Art Galleries, Hunterian Art Gallery and Museum, Mackintosh House, the Burrell Collection, CCA (Centre for Contemporary Art, Museum of Transport and St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art are only a few of the cultural attractions of the city.
Glasgow’s nightlife is legendary and the city hosts a wide range of events throughout the year from the traditional, Scottish Hogmanay celebrations at new year to classical, traditional and popular music, comedy and film listings. There are also regular sporting fixtures and the city will play host to the Commonwealth Games in 2014.
The West Coast of Scotland is world-renowned for its history and natural beauty. As the Artto is close to many travel links it is easy for guests to explore further afield if they want to spend time outside the city limits. The shores of Loch Lomond are but a short journey away.
